This latest version of EH40 has been updated to include new and revised workplace exposure limits (WELs) introduced by the 4th Indicative Occupational Exposure Limit Values (IOELV) Directive. It will guide those responsible for controlling exposure to hazardous substances at work. HSE aims to reduce work-related death, injury and ill health.

Environmental Hygiene EH40 is one of the HSE's Environmental Hygiene series of guidance documents. Not sure how many others there are. There used to be EH30 which was about asbestos, and there were also notes on certain compounds e.g. arsine (EH 11), stibine (EH 12), and phosphine (EH 20).

Just one other thing people have mention WEL for asbestos - there is no WEL for asbestos in EH40 Your Client, with due respect, is obviously not fully aware of current legislation and I would politely tell her so.
