AISI 302 (S30200) Stainless Steel AISI 302 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel formulated for primary forming into wrought products. 302 is the AISI designation for this material. S30200 is the UNS number.
JIS SUS 302 stainless steel,SUS 302 stainless steel Package JIS SUS 302 stainless steel is a slightly higher carbon version of type 304, most commonly found in strip and wire forms. While still used in a variety of industries, many applications have shifted to 304 and 304L due to advances in melting technology, availability and cost.
The Type 302, 304, 304L and 305 alloys are the most susceptible of the austenitic stainless steels to stress corrosion cracking in halides because of their relatively low nickel content. Conditions which cause stress corrosion cracking are: (1) presence of halide ions (generally chloride), (2) residual tensile stresses, and (3) temperatures in excess of about 120F (49C).
Stainless Steel 302 has good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Stainless Steel 302 is also known as AISI 302.

A general purposed steel, 302 stainless steel is designed to offer a greater resistance to corrosion than 301 stainless steel. Constructed with a lower percentage of carbon, 304 stainless steel is designed to limit carbide precipitation. This type of stainless steel is often used in high-temperature applications.
Types 302 (S30200), 304(S30400), 304L (S30403), and 305 (S30500) stainless steels are variations of the 18 percent chromium 8 percent nickel austenitic alloy, the most familiar and most frequently used alloy in the stainless steel family. Each alloy represents an excellent combination of corrosion resistance and fabricability.
302 Stainless Steel: Austenitic, non-magnetic, extremely tough and ductile, 302 Stainless Steel is one of the more common chrome-nickel stainless and heat-resisting steels. Cold working will dramatically increase its hardness, and applications range from the stamping, spinning and wire forming industry to food and beverage, sanitary, cryogenic and pressure-containing.
Alloy 302 is a slightly higher carbon version of 304, often found in strip and wire forms. It is a tough, ductile grade that demonstrates comparable corrosion resistance, is non-magnetic, and is not hardenable by heat treatment. Alloy 302 is usually used in its annealed condition and has a high ease of fabrication and formability.

302HQ is a specialised wire grade finding very wide usage for manufacture of stainless steel fasteners. 3% copper in the composition reduces the cold work hardening rate compared to Grade 304. 302HQ is the standard material for self-tapping screws, light machine screws as well as some bolts, etc.
Grade 302 is a slightly higher carbon version than grade 304. It is widely found in strip and wire forms. It is a standard specification for chromium and chromium-nickel stainless steel sheet, plate, and strip used for pressure vessels and for general applications.
Both AISI 302 stainless steel and AISI 304 stainless steel are iron alloys. They have a very high 99% of their average alloy composition in common. For each property being compared, the top bar is AISI 302 stainless steel and the bottom bar is AISI 304 stainless steel.
AISI 302 can be supplied as steel plate/ sheet, round steel bar, steel tube/pipe, steel stripe, steel billet, steel ingot, steel wire rods. electroslag, forged ring/ block, etc. Join Supplier: [email protected]
